Purpose
The DMC is where top government and industry leaders and manufacturing subject matter experts get together to communicate and collaborate on policies, strategic direction, best practices, funding opportunities, and the latest innovations in support of defense manufacturing priorities.
Agenda
This four-day conference includes three widely attended morning General Sessions (Tues-Wed-Thurs) and four afternoon Concurrent Technical and Special Topic Sessions (Mon-Tues-Wed-Thurs).

DMC 2016 is sponsored by the Universal Technology Corporation (UTC). Planning is conducted in collaboration with the Office of Assistant Secretary of Defense for Manufacturing and Industrial Base Policy (MIBP), and the Joint Defense Manufacturing Technology Panel (JDMTP) which is comprised of the senior representatives of manufacturing technology programs of the DOD, Services, MDA, and the DLA. Each year, one or more of these organizations is the focus for the conference. This year, the United States Army is the focus service, although all participate.
History
Since its inception in 1969 as the Manufacturing Technology Advisory Group (MTAG) Conference, DMC has provided the defense community with a forum for presenting the latest innovative manufacturing technology developments. Average attendance is well over 800, evenly divided between government and industry participants, with a small complement from academia. Attendees range from CEO- and Flag Officer/SES-level to working-level manufacturing-oriented engineers, scientists and business practice/policy makers.
